Last updated: June 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how BowlRz ("BowlRz", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the BowlRz website at bowlrz.com, the BowlRz mobile app, and related services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you sign in with BowlRz ID, we receive your name, email address, username, and any profile details you choose to add (such as a profile photo or home center). Your password is managed by BowlRz ID and is never shared with us.
- Activity you create. Games and scores, sessions, leagues, tagged games, kudos, comments, follows, and the centers you follow or manage.
- Center & business information. If you claim or manage a bowling center, the details you submit — name, address, hours, pricing, leagues, menus, photos, staff roster, and related content.
- Communications. Messages you send us, and a phone number if you choose to verify ownership of a center by phone.
Information we collect automatically
- Device & usage data. IP address, device and browser type, operating system, app version, and how you interact with the Services (pages or screens viewed, features used, and timestamps).
- Approximate location. With your permission, we use your device location to help you find bowling centers near you. You can turn this off in your device settings; centers' own addresses are public information.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Services;
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you through BowlRz ID;
- Power social features (profiles, tagged games, kudos, comments, follows) according to your settings;
- Provide owner tools (claiming a center, editing content, scheduling and publishing your site, billing);
- Process payments and subscriptions for paid owner features;
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security issues;
- Understand usage through analytics so we can improve the Services;
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. AI-assisted features
Some owner features (such as the conversational assistant and content suggestions) send the content you submit to a third-party AI provider to generate a response. That content is processed only to provide the feature; it is not used to train third-party models for unrelated purposes. Inputs are screened for safety before processing. You can always edit your center's information directly without using these features.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here:
- With other users. Your public profile and the activity you choose to make public are visible to others, according to your settings.
- With centers. When you interact with a bowling center (e.g., follow it, or are added to its staff), relevant information is shared with that center's authorized managers.
- Service providers. Vendors who process data on our behalf — hosting and infrastructure, analytics, payment processing, phone/SMS verification, and AI processing — under contracts that limit their use of the information.
- BowlRz / BowlRx network. Information may be shared between BowlRz and the BowlRx platform that powers center websites, to operate the connected services.
- Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Services.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
5. Your choices and rights
- Access and update. You can view and edit most account and profile information in the app or on bowlrz.com.
- Delete your account and data. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings, or by emailing [email protected]. On deletion we remove or de-identify your personal information, except where we must retain it to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
- Location. Control location access in your device settings.
- Communications. Opt out of non-essential emails using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
- Cookies. Manage cookies through your browser and our Cookie Policy.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, and afterward only as required to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
